THEY SAID… THEY SAID…

18 Jul 2010

Yvan MULLER – winner Race 1: “The start was good. Rob (Huff) and I were side by side through the first corners then drove as best we could. The safety car was good as it allowed us to cool our tyres which meant we could then push again for the last few laps. It is good to stretch the championship lead but there is still a long way to go.”

Andy PRIAULX – winner Race 2: “It has been a tough weekend as things were really stacked against us. But in the end I am really pleased to have got a win at home. We are really competitive if we don’t have to attack or defend. It’s a brilliant result to be third in the championship and we are heading to a few circuits that will suit us so hopefully we can take the championship fight all the way to Macau.”

Rob HUFF – 2nd in Race 1: “I’m very happy. Our strategy worked well at the start and Yvan (Muller) and I were able to look after our front-left tyres. Colin (Turkington) got passed Alain (Menu) at the end but we had a bit of a gap so could take it easy on the final lap. It was a great team effort and I am happy to have me and Yvan both on the podium. It will be difficult in Race 2 as we won’t have the luxury of being able to look after our tyres.”

Colin TURKINGTON – 3rd in Race 1, 2nd in Race 2: “It’s been a fantastic weekend for me and my team. It is always good to be able to produce the results. It has been a difficult start to 2010 for me but I am buzzing to be back behind the wheel racing. I know the circuit here well and it all really worked for me today.”

Gabriele TARQUINI – 3rd in Race 2: “My first race wasn’t really good. We didn’t have the pace and the set up wasn’t good as we had understeer. We made changes for the second race though and they worked really well. The TDI isn’t great at Brands so I’m happy to end race two scoring some points.”

Norbert MICHELISZ – Rookie winner in Race 1 and Race 2: “In Race 1 I had a pretty good start as I was not expecting to get up to P8 that quick. In Race 2 I was closer the front cars than in the first race. We changed the car set up as we developed understeer in Race 1 and it worked. I was really happy to score points in both races as this is what I came here for.”
